Some eleven years, five musicians got together to create a unique original sound. Neil Evens, Chris Salisbury, Pat Wilborne, Steve Wesley and Nigel Portas all have an extensive back ground in the local music scene, ranging from past projects as Dark/Light, Bash Street Kids, Avatar, Knek, Blue/Orange, Pulse, Sand in your Sandals and more. So armed with guitars, bass, drums and vocals they proceeded to write original songs as well as learning classic rock covers.

The band got very busy, with gigs all over the East of the UK. In 2007 the band released their debut CD “Year of the Dog”. The album was written, recorded, produced by the band themselves, even the art work. A proud moment for the band was at a charity event for the Pink Rose Appeal when a taster of the Album was released for the charity and all proceeds went to the appeal. Not long after that, one of the 1st line up changes accrued, abruptly Nigel left the band at the tail end of’ summer 2007 with server health issues, and was subsequently replaced with Carl Gibbet. The band carried on playing gigs, writing music until again a line up change accrued when Carl left, and was replaced with Tony Jones, from Cross Fire and other local bands.

2010 saw the band field different bass players, Wez was working away allot with a band that was touring the EU, and a stand in bass player was used, in early April Wez decided to totally step down from the band after serving over eleven years, his replacement was a bit odd, Neil who had kept in touch with Nigel, ask him to cover some of Wez’s gigs, so in full circle, Nigel came back to the band as bass player.  So the current line up for D.O.G is

Neil Evans - Vocals

Chris Salisbury - Guitar

Nigel Portas - Bass & Vocals

Tony Jones - Drums & Vocals

Update :- Pat Wilborne has left the band, we wish Pat well for all his future endeavours
